Stretcher Locks
Every ambulance stretcher needs a locking system. Sometimes it's a 2-part standalone lock, a 2-part lock with guide rails, its own complete locking unit, or a lock integrated into a stretcher sled.
Each lock must be anchored to the floor of the vehicles, and it's the vehicle builder who is responsible for this installation. Often, there's an inspection of vehicles with horizontal stretcher spaces. This inspection verifies that approved stretchers and locks are installed in an approved manner, such as in the floor, in the unique vehicle model.
Standards for this are: EN1789 and EN1865, as well as sometimes local regulations additionally.
