Bandage and wound care materials serve the function of preventing contamination of wounds (wound dressings), stopping bleeding (pressure bandages), or supporting fractures and sprains (support bandages). Wound dressings should ideally be sterile as they come into contact with an open wound to avoid infection. A pressure bandage is used to stop bleeding from a wound and should therefore be tight around the wound site. A typical pressure bandage is a single-use package with a fixed compress. Support bandages should provide good support for fractures/sprains and thus provide pain relief by relieving pressure. Ferno Norden offers a wide range of different types of bandages, self-adhesive elastic wraps, SWAT-T, compression bandages, as well as a variety of other bandage and wound care materials.
